AMA Overview#
At amazee.io, AMAs (Ask Me Anything) are a unique and vital part of our recruitment process. They give the team a chance to connect with final-stage candidates and assess their fit with our values and culture, while also allowing candidates to meet potential colleagues. Here’s a quick summary of everything you need to know about AMAs.
What Are AMAs?#
- Purpose: AMAs let the wider team meet candidates and provide feedback before hiring decisions are made. They also give candidates the opportunity to evaluate if amazee.io is the right fit for them.
- Focus: Team fit, value alignment, and soft skills.
- AMAs are not technical interviews. Candidates have already passed the technical assessment stage.
AMA Structure#
- Duration: 45 minutes.
- Format:
- Starts with questions from the team to the candidate.
- Ends with the candidate asking their own questions, usually 10-20 minutes before the session ends.
- Introductions: Attendees introduce themselves (name, location, role) when asking their questions.
Attendance#
- Encouraged for All: The more team members attending, the more diverse feedback we can gather.
- Workstream-Specific:
- Members of the candidate’s prospective workstream are expected to attend.
- Overlapping workstreams are encouraged to join as well if they’ll be interacting with the candidate.
Engagement and Feedback#
- Engagement:
- Each attendee is expected to ask the candidate at least one question.
- Use the AMA Question Bank if you need inspiration.
-
Be present, minimize distractions, and turn on your camera whenever possible.
-
Feedback:
- Anonymous feedback is mandatory and collected via a Google Form shared after the AMA.
- Feedback must be submitted within 24 hours to ensure it is timely and meaningful.
AMAs are an integral part of ensuring we hire candidates who align with our team and culture. By participating, you help shape the future of amazee.io. Thank you for being part of the process!
